HISTORY MAKER - Jack Roosevelt Robinson. He spent one season with the Monarchs. Stats from The Negro
Leagues Book by Dick Clark show Robinson getting 63 hits in 163 at-bats in 47 games. Robinson had 14 doubles,
4 triples, and 5 home runs, with 13 stolen bases. That's a .387 batting average and a .613 slugging percentage.
The following year, Robinson would play with Montreal (International League) and hit .349 before going to the
Brooklyn Dodgers, in 1947, and hitting .297. That season he became the first player named Rookie of the Year.
