- Played Collegiate Baseball at Division-1 Clemson University
- Served 5 years as a bullpen catcher for the Minnesota Twins
- Hoby has been teaching Pine Tar Academy lessons, camps and clinics since 2007
- Teaching Pro focused on working with Hitting, Catching and Fielding
- Hoby is a Biologist by trade, Volunteer fireman and Certified EMT with the Excelsior Fire Department
