- Rob is originally from East Grand Forks (EGF) where he played Minnesota American Legion baseball program and was
recruited to play collegiately at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks
- Captain, leading hitter and team MVP in Senior season at the University of North Dakota
- 2-time North Central Conference All-academic Team
- Played for 18 seasons with the Minneapolis Angels amateur baseball club, contributing to 3 Minnesota Class A state titles
and named to the state all-tournament team two times
- Youth baseball coach and umpire in EGF for 6 seasons for players ages 7-18
- Head Coach EGF VFW baseball team (15/16-year olds) for 2 seasons, leading the team to a district championship and state
tournament
- Assistant Coach with the EGF American Legion baseball team for 1 season
- Assistant Coach with the EGF 8th Grade boys basketball team for 2 seasons
- Head Coach, Player and Manager of the Grand Forks Elks amateur baseball club for 2 seasons
- Assistant Coach for 5 seasons with players ages 6-12 with Hopkins Area Little League
- Head Coach for 2 seasons with player ages 10-12 with Hopkins Area Little League
- Coached Hopkins all-star teams for 3 seasons, leading the 9-10 year old team to District 1 and Minnesota state titles and the
11-12 year old team to a 3rd place finish in District 1
- Assisted with developing and conducting annual baseball clinics for Hopkins Area Little League for 3 seasons
